The Summer of Shred is for everyone regardless of age and experience. It is a perfect way to learn about the sport in a fun and friendly environment.
Racing takes place every Thursday evening over this Summer. 5:00pm -7:30 pm at Mt Taylor.
It’s not a race as such but there is a competitive challenge that is all about personal development and improvement. You race your own best time. Your first race establishes a Personal Best (PB). Points are awarded after each race based on your performance against this time. Each week you will be racing against yourself, no categories, no set race order. You will be entering under a category which will be used to determine placings for the end of season awards only.
Come join us for a bit of fun, it’s as serious as you want to make it. There are plenty of members to help you out and give you tips, so don’t be shy.
The first 6 weeks of the season will see competitors post a time on both Tip Run & The Final Fling of Southern Cross. Each week riders will progress their skill & fitness levels. All riders will be age grouped & time slot allocated for their laps.
The second half of the season will introduce 2 new tracks as riders should have progressed their skills & fitness enough to tackle more challenging terrain. Each rider will ride further up the mountain to Goodes track & tackle Flow & Gabe’s into Tip Run.
You will need to be a current Mountain Biking East Gippsland Race Member to join the series entry. Season entries now closed but you are welcome to sign up on the day as long as your Race Membership is up to date.
