Race Information

We have courses and graded races to suit all ages, abilities and fitness, for 6 year olds through to 70 plus year olds.

This is a SUPERFUN & FAST COURSE on the new Potters Gorge trails, to start the series off with BIG SMILES ALL ROUND!😁😜😝

New riders are most welcome and we will host ride days leading up to the event the weekends prior.

This will be the first of 2 races forming the SOUTH 32 WAMBENGER CUP and the 1st State XCO Round.

You don’t need to be doing any of the other rounds to take part. State series points will be allocated for each round, while points for the Wambenger Cup prizes will be the total of points accumulated from both rounds 1 & 2 on Sat 4th & Sun 5th.

The Start/ Finish and Village area

has been shifted to opposite the kiosk carpark,

so plenty of food, coffee and drink will be available close at hand plus easy parking.

The course still passes the edge of the Wellington Dam, in the bbq picnic area at Potters Gorge so you can cool down after finishing.

Camping/ Caravaning

is also available next to the course and spring feed swim hole on the lower Collie Senior High School Oval available from Friday 5pm through to Monday 1pm . Camping/Caravan spots for Potters Gorge and Honeymoon Pool are already booked out.

The trails

This year we will be using superfun trails just opened in the Potters Gorge area on the next to Wellington Dam. Both waves will be using the same trail loop that is guaranteed to have everyone smiling ear to ear. The new Elixer trail is a super sassy blue flow trail with lots of jumps and deep berms. Think Line manager x2 The climb is a relatively short switchback climb which instantly rewards you with a super fast trail flowing around the hill back out towards the kiosk carpark before another short climb and travers back to the Elixer trail. The race loop then finishes with a 1km loop on the Wade of the Potters Hotge campsite and Dam edge.

There will be an opportunity to practice on these trails anytime before the event including the morning of the event with Official Practice and Medic onsite from 7am to 8.30am.

Pick up of Number Plates will be in available from 7am onwards at the Registration Tent in the Potters Gorge Carpark Race Village area.

Come for the race, stay for the fun...bring the whole family and come on down to test yourself against the state's best, challenge yourself, your mates and make some new ones with a super fun adventurous group of friendly peoples that involved with running and taking part in these events.

Camping/ Caravaning will be available again on the Collie High Schools Ovals right next to the course with a beautiful spring feed swim hole 100m away to cool down in. We expect to make bookings available for camping from February Friday the 10th for Friday March 3rd through to Monday March 6th.

Note if coming from the South, the Falcon Rd bridge beneath the dam wall is not in use ... you’ll need to come either via the Coalfields Hwy or via Lennard Dr off Falcon Rd then Right onto Honeymoon Pool Rd and Right again onto Wellington Dam Rd.
