2021 “Ride to Recovery” – Manning Valley Time Trial Challenge

A new fixture on the Cycling NSW Calendar The Manning Valley Time Trial Challenge is being held on the 22nd and 23rd of May utilizing 2 new courses within the Manning Valley, being Manning Point and Coolongolook.

The Storm and Flood event of March 2021 caused widespread devastation to the Manning Valley community with the village of Manning Point isolated for a number of days requiring helicopter drops of essential items just to get by.

Post-flood, the rebuilding and recovery process is only just beginning, with the true extent of the devastation still being assessed. What we do know is that recovery process, emotionally, environmentally, physically and financially is going to be a long and challenging.

The Manning Valley Cycle Club see this event as a positive way to engage with the broader cycling community to provide a boost to the local economy and spirits in a way that only sport does.

Our intention is to use the event as a fundraiser, with proceeds above expenses channeled back to disaster relief agencies locally.

An event volunteer will transport the spares to the far end of the circuit. Additional information will be available at sign-on desk as well as announcements on the morning of the event.
