The Toughen-Up Series returns for another year.

The points system also remains the same as last year to ensure we really reward the toughest nuts. As a reminder, in addition to the normal aggregate points you earn for a race, riders can accrue the following bonus points:

• a 50% bonus to any aggregate points earnt at Jindivick (e.g. win at Jindivick and you’ll receive 10 aggregate points plus a bonus 5 points.)

• compete in all four rounds of the series and you’ll receive 4 bonus points (basically an extra point for each round.)

• if you are required to marshal at any of the races, you will be awarded your average points from your other series races.

• at Broadford, we are likely to race in both directions on the track. If this occurs, a full set of points will be awarded for each individual race (so essentially come on down for the chance at double points at Broadford).

Additionally, to be eligible for any series prize money this year, you must have entered at least three rounds of the series (note that Broadford will only count for one round and marshalling at one of the rounds will count towards your three rounds). Like we said, we want to reward the real tough nuts of the series this year.

Note: Bonus points will not count towards the Club Champion Aggregate – they only apply to the Toughen-Up Series.

Race Schedule

Check-in from 09:00 on the day. Check-in closes 15 minutes before the advertised start time.

Do not arrive at the last minute - allow yourself enough time to attach your race number.

Multiple bunches will be on the course at any given time. Be respectful as you overtake/are overtaken.

Grades

ECC operates on grades based on records of previous results to determine which grade a rider will race. The intention of handicapping is to allow all riders the opportunity to compete in a race which suits their experience, ability and normal fitness level, while maintaining the safety of all competitors.

Licences

AusCycling Race All Discipline licences are required for this event.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct licence. This will be verified when you register here.

If your licence has expired or otherwise has an issue we reserve the right to scratch you from the race.

No licence?

Not to worry! If you are eligible you can take out a 4-week free trial or sign up for a one or 7 day event licence.

On the Day

1. Upon arrival please confirm your attendance at the check-in desk and receive your race number.

2. A rider briefing will be conducted before each grade roll away. Please be ready when your grade is called.

3. At the end of each grade ALL riders must exit the course as fast and safely as possible, as other grades may still be racing.

4. ALL riders must ensure that they return their racing number to the check-in desk post racing.

5. Placegetters please wait for presentations and photos.

Scratching and Cancellation

• Scratching - Scratching is a self-serve, automated refund via EntryBoss if withdrawing within scratching cut-off.
• Event Cancellation - Riders will be provided with a full refund if the event is cancelled for any reason.
• Refunds - Refunds will not be provided for no-shows or if you scratch after the cut off.

Use of personal Images

I, the rider, hereby grant permission to Eastern Cycling Club to use photographs or video footage of me taken during club events for promotional purposes, including publication on social media platforms, the club website, and other marketing materials. I understand that these images may be used to highlight and promote club activities. If I do not wish for my image to be used in this manner, I will notify the race commissaire prior to the commencement of the event.

Individual taking Photograph or Video

Riders wishing to capture video or photographs during an Eastern Cycling Club event must first seek approval from the race commissaire prior to filming. This ensures that all content is taken in accordance with club policies and respects the privacy of participants. The race commissaire, in turn, is responsible for obtaining consent from all riders. No media should be recorded or shared without prior agreement from all relevant parties involved.
