VCC and CCC are teaming up to bring you a combined track calendar for 2024. Each race is the result of a collaborative effort between the two clubs.
Riders from any club are welcome to participate in this event.
Many riders use TRACK RACING to enhance performance, skills and tactics as well as to keep fit, however new riders to track are very welcome with more experienced riders providing guidance on getting used to track.
With a wide range of events track racing can suit sprinters and endurance riders alike.
All riders get a minimum of three races including a scratch and a mix of handicap, points, elimination, pursuit or sprints.
We cannot ride in the the rain. A post will be made on the Vikings Facebook page if racing will be cancelled due to bad weather.
Gear restrictions apply to all junior cyclists in events conducted under Cycling Australia/AusCycling regulations on the road and track.
The restrictions referred to is the distance one revolution of the crank arm will propel the bicycle, this is known as the ‘roll out’.
More info here on junior gearing and roll out here:
Due to velodrome's steep banking, only track bikes can be used. The club has a limited number of track bikes, so first in, first served!
Riders must have a current Cycling Australia RACE License. License Information is available here: http://membership.cycling.org.au/
