2024 Schools MTB Series - Victoria - Round 2 Lysterfield

Location: Lysterfield Park Commonwealth Games course Hallam North Road, Lysterfield South Date: 14 July 2024

Entry fee: $30 Registration and Start Times: Registration will open at 8:00am. The first race will begin at 9:10am, detailed schedule to come.

Round two of Victorian Schools MTB series will be run on parts of the 2006 Commonwealth Games MTB course. The course will take riders through a combination of singletrack, technical terrain and some double track. A second shorter course will be provided for the younger categories. Parking is available on site at the end of Hallam North Road, $5.00 carparking for the parking on site, with a short walk from there to registration (less than 200m). Riders are expected to race on a roadworthy bike, we will have two bike mechanics on hand performing bike checks.

Riders can choose to enter one of two categories in their chosen age category:

Novice category is suitable for a rider who is new to MTB racing, or has limited experience racing before.

Racing category is suitable for a rider who is experienced and raced at either Club, State or National levels.

Age categories and intended race distance for the series (individual courses will determine actual race distance):

U9 - approx 2.2kms

U11 - approx 5kms

U13 - approx 7kms

U15 - approx 12kms

U17 - approx 15kms

U19 - approx 20kms

Parking Entry to the event is via Hallam North Road, Lysterfield South. Carparking is in the car park near the toilet block, with a short walk down the hill to the race village. $5.00 parking on site, all funds raised are for the trails

Race start time schedule (Subject to change): Presentations will be held after each race if at all possible

8:00am – 9:00am Official Course Practice. (Unofficial Practice outside this time is available at riders own risk ) 9:10am: Under 9 Boys and Under 9 Girls, Race & Novice divisions. 9:20am: Under 11 Boys and Under 11 Girls, Race & Novice divisions. 9:40am: 13 Boys and 13 Girls Novice divisions. 10:10am: U13 Boys and Under 13 Girls Race divisions. 10:40am: Under 15 Boys Novice division 11:30am: Under 15 Boys Race division 12:15pm: Under 15, Under 17, Under 19 Girls, Race & Novice divisions. 1:00pm: Under 17 and Under 19 Boys Novice division. 2:00pm: Under 17 and Under 19 Boys Race division
