2024 Schools MTB Series - Victoria - Round 3 You Yangs

Location: You Yangs Regional Park (Drysdale Rd)

Date: 04 August 2024

Entry fee: $30 Registration

Start Times: Registration will open at 8:00am. The first race will begin at 9:10am, detailed schedule below.

Round three of Victorian Schools MTB series will be run on the trails on the Stockyards side of the You Yangs. There will be a Long Course for the older age categories and a second shorter course will be provided for the younger categories. Parking is available on site via Drysdale Road, with a short walk from there to registration. Riders are expected to race on a roadworthy bike, we will have two bike mechanics from Hendry"s Cycles on hand performing bike checks. Riders can choose to enter one of two categories in their chosen age category:

Novice category is suitable for a rider who is new to MTB racing, or has limited experience racing before.

Racing category is suitable for a rider who is experienced and raced at either Club, State or National levels.

Age categories and intended race distance for the series (individual courses will determine actual race distance):

U9 - approx 2.4kms

U11 - approx 5kms

U13 - approx 7.5kms

U15 - approx 12kms

U17 - approx 15kms

U19 - approx 20kms

Parking

Entry to the event is via Drysdale Rd, there is a carpark onsite and also some parking outside on the entrance road just outside the gate.

Coffee Van and BBQ. A coffee van will be on site from 8am.

08:00 – 09:00 Official Course Practice. (Unofficial Practice outside this time is available at riders own risk)

09:10 Race 1: U9 Male & U9 Female, all riders - short course

09:15 Race 2: U15 Male, Race & Novice divisions - long course

09:45 Race 3: U11 Male, Race & Novice divisions - short course

10:20 Race 4: U15 Female, U17 Female & U19 Female, Race & Novice divisions - long course

10:40 Race 5: U11 Female & U13 Female, Race & Novice divisions - short course

11:30 Race 6: U17 Male & U19 Male, Race & Novice divisions - long course

11:45 Race 7: U13 Male, Race & Novice divisions - short course

13:00 Podium presentations for all races
