2024 Schools MTB Series - Victoria - Round 1 Dromana

Location: Dromana Secondary College Date: 23 June 2024

Entry fee: $30 Registration and Start Times: Registration will open at 8:00am. The first race will begin at 9:10am, detailed schedule below.

Round one of Victorian Schools MTB series will be run on the grounds of the Dromana Secondary College. The 3.2km course will take riders through a combination of paved pathways between the school buildings, through parkland and around the sports oval. A second shorter course will be provided for the younger categories. Parking is available on site via Harrisons Road, with a short walk from there to registration. Riders are expected to race on a roadworthy bike, we will have two bike mechanics on hand performing bike checks. Riders can choose to enter one of two categories in their chosen age category:

Novice category is suitable for a rider who is new to MTB racing, or has limited experience racing before.

Racing category is suitable for a rider who is experienced and raced at either Club, State or National levels.

Age categories and intended race distance for the series (individual courses will determine actual race distance):

U9 - approx 2.2kms

U11 - approx 5kms

U13 - approx 7kms

U15 - approx 12kms

U17 - approx 15kms

U19 - approx 20kms

Parking Entry to the event is via the Harrisons Rd entrance to the school, there is a small carpark inside the school grounds and also plenty of roadside parking just outside the gate.

Coffee Van and BBQ. A coffee van will be on site from 8am and the Red Hill Riders will be offering sausages and Hamburgers for sale. The BBQ is a fundraiser for the development of junior club riders (cash only for the BBQ).

8:00am – 9:00am Official Course Practice. (Unofficial Practice outside this time is available at riders own risk ) 9:10am: Under 9 Boys and Under 9 Girls, Race & Novice divisions. 9:20am: Under 11 Boys and Under 11 Girls, Race & Novice divisions. 9:40am: 13 Boys and 13 Girls Novice divisions. 10:10am: U13 Boys and Under 13 Girls Race divisions. 10:40am: Under 15 Boys Novice division 10:45am Presentations for Under 9 - Under 13 races 11:30am: Under 15 Boys Race division 12:15pm: Under 15, Under 17, Under 19 Girls, Race & Novice divisions. 1:00pm: Under 17 and Under 19 Boys Novice division. 2:00pm: Under 17 and Under 19 Boys Race division 3:00pm Presentations for Under 15 - Under 19 races
