Rosny Park

Join us for ChristmasCross!

A cyclocross race & end of year social bash in one.

Cyclocross (also known as CX) is a mix between road riding and cross-country mountain biking.

A race will be held over a short course of about 2.5km around Rosny Park, riding on grass, gravel paths, steep hills and a few hurdles where you'll need to dismount. It’s a sometimes muddy, fun experience for all ages of riders. Speed is one of the aims, but fun is the main goal here - you can go as fast or as slow as your fitness allows.

ChristmasCross is for both racers & those that want to come along to spectate and socialise.

Racers must enter. Socialisers that don't enter won't be turned away - but please do register so we can plan & cater properly!

RACE DETAILS:

Cyclocross (CX) Racing involve multiple laps of a short, non-technical, mixed terrain circuit. Racing will be the “mini – enduro” format with whoever completes the most laps in 45 minutes being declared the winner. CX is less technical than traditional Cross-Country Racing and has the addition of sections of course where participants need to dismount and run with their bikes.

• there'll be a prize for best Christmas race costume.

Bikes:

All types of bikes (and riders) are welcome to get involved and get rad! (as long as they have 2 working brakes, and bar plugs in the handlebars). Bring your gravel or cross bike - or your MTB.

PARTY DETAILS

Please come along to enjoy the race, cheer the riders & enjoy an end of year cycling Chrissy party!

Details to come - but we'll have some sort of food & drink on hand.

$5 for under 18s racers

$10 for 18 years and over racers

$5 for over 18s spectators

Free for under 18s spectators

Racers must have a licence Auscycling Day Membership race at extra cost (or get a yearly licence & go in plenty of Tassie club cycling events) See licence info below.

GETTING THERE

Rosny Park is off Rosny Hill Rd, adjacent to the Eastlands shopping centre. The rego spot is near the old golf club house & near Rosny Farm.
