Remembrance Day, Sunday, 11 November 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18).
One hundred years ago, on 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War.
Please observe one minute's silence at 11 am at the start line for Senior A and C grade. Please be ready early at the line and still and silent in respect. This is in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts; including members of the Norwood Cycling Club, who served in the Australian armed forces during the war and are remembered on the honour board in the club rooms.
