About

The 2023 CQ Gravel Series Rd 2. is co-hosted by Rockhampton MTB and Rockhampton Cycling Club on Sunday 18th June. This event will feature Handicap starts for both medium & long course events.

What is a handicap race?
A handicap race is a race where riders are given different start times to give riders of different abilities have a similar chance of finishing the race at the same time. Handicap start times are determined by the race handicapper.

To assist with handcapping, please add your predicted pace/race time for the course length in the comment section of your entry.

The course

99% Gravel roads. You will require a basic level of experience and confidence in mountain/gravel biking and a good level of fitness and endurance. All 3 courses will be clearly marked with signage & arrows. Each track junction will have a sign with directions on which way to go, depending on which distance you are completing. There will also be course marshals at each significant turn. See maps and course descriptions for more detail.

IMPORTANT: All Junior (U15 & U17) competitors in the Medium Course event MUST have a chaperone ride with them at all times. Please highlight chaperone details in the comments section of your entry

IMPORTANT: All competitors must be at the event hub and attend the race briefing prior to the first wave of riders leaving to ensure that no unnecessary traffic is present on the race course

All entrants must have a valid AusCycling Race (Road or Offroad) Licence. An Event Licence may be purchased no earlier than the day prior to the event if required through AusCycling.
