2023 Northwave Junior Road Series

This event is the first round of the NSW/ACT Northwave Junior Road Series for 2023!
Riders (U13 - U17) will be able to collect points throughout the rounds which will total up to determine an overall winner after 6 rounds of competitive racing!

Entry fees

Price includes entry into all events over the two days of racing.

$35 - Participation, U9, U11 & U13
$45 - U15 & U17

Age Categories & Eligibility

  • U9, U11, U13, U15, U17
  • Age Categories for this event are as per 2023 ages effective from 1st October 2022.
  • Financial AusCycling 'Race All Discipline' members only.
  • This event is not open to Temporary or Recreational Memberships
  • U8 Participation event riders must hold, at minimum, a current AusCycling 'Lifestyle' membership for insurance purposes

Venue: Cullerin Rd, Gunning NSW
Sign-on: no sign-on required for Sunday if you rode on day 1.
Race Start: 9:00am
Stage 3 - Time Trial
Stage 4 - Road Race U9-U13/Handicap for U15-U17- Click here for route
* Stage 4 will not be apart of the points for the NSW/ACT Junior Road Series - as it is a handicap.


Prizes & Presentations

  • Total Prizes will amount to approximately $1,500 in value.
  • In line with AusCycling's Junior Prize Money policy, there will be no prize money awarded for the Junior (U9 – U17) categories.
  • Prize packs will be awarded to the top finishes in the General Classification.
  • Presentations will be conducted at Breadalbane Public School at the conclusion of Day 2's racing.

  • Age Categories may be split into divisions where numbers permit.
  • Divisions will be determined by GC standings at the end of day 1.
  • Handicaps for Under 15 & 17 Stage 4 road races will be determined by GC standings at the end of day 1.
  • Separate events for Under 9 and 11 boys and girls if numbers permit.
  • Ample parking will be available adjacent to both start/finish locations on each day of competition.
  • In race feeding will not be permitted, fines will apply.
  • Breadalbane Public School will be running a canteen on both days of competition.
  • Neutral Spares will be available for U15 & U17 age categories only.
  • It is strongly advised to bring warm clothing as weather could be cool.

Photography at event

By entering my child into this event, I, as the child’s parent or guardian.

  • acknowledge that photographs and videos of my child may be taken during the event; and
  • give permission for AusCycling and the event promoter to record, keep, publish and display such photographs and videos of my child.

Please note that photographs and videos of competitors may be taken during the event. Please advise AusCycling by e-mail at membership@auscycling.org.au if you do not give permission for the promoter and / or AusCycling to keep, publish and display photographs and videos of your child from this event.


Handicapping / Grading

Riders will be graded as per the NSW Handicapping Policy. There is no guarantee you will receive the grade you nominate. To avoid disappointment, please check with your club handicapper to ensure your state handicapping code is correct.


Refund Policy

Entry Refund Any rider (entered into an AusCycling event or promoted event in NSW) who wishes to receive a refund more than 8 days prior to the event may do so by withdrawing by scratching themselves via their EntryBoss account. Any rider seeking a refund within 8 days on an event must submit a doctor's certificate to AusCycling All refund requests within 8 days of an event should be sent to olivia.forrest@auscycling.org.au
