2022 Alpinestars Schools MTB Series - Victoria - Round 1 Dromana

Registration and Start Times: Registration will open at 8:30am. The first race will begin at 9:30am, detailed schedule below.

Round one of VICS MTB will be run on the grounds of the Dromana Secondary College. The 3.2km course will take riders through a combination of paved pathways between the school buildings, through parkland and around the sports oval. A second shorter course will be provided for the younger categories. Parking is available on site via Harrisons Road, with a short walk from there to registration. Riders are expected to race on a roadworthy bike, we will have two bike mechanics on hand performing bike checks.

Riders can choose to enter one of two categories in their chosen age category:

Novice category is suitable for a rider who is new to MTB racing, or has limited experience racing before.

Racing category is suitable for a rider who is experienced and raced at either Club, State or National levels.

Parking Entry to the event is via the Harrisons Rd entrance to the school, there is a small carpark inside the school grounds and also plenty of roadside parking just outside the gate.

Pre-Race Ride Afternoon (Come and try) will be held on Wednesday 8th June at 4:15-5:15pm, where Dromana College Cycling Academy students will chaperone riders around the race course and providing some tips and tricks for new riders. RSVP Darren.Doye@education.vic.gov.au if attending and we will meet at the Harrisons Rd Carpark Entrance of the school at 4:15pm.

Short Course (u9 & U11) - 700m, Elevation gain - 7m Long Course (U13 to U19) - 3.2km, Elevation gain - 42m (U13 to U19)

Race start time schedule (FINAL):

9:30am: 13 Boys and 13 Girls Novice divisions.
9:40am: Under 9 Boys and Under 9 Girls, Race & Novice divisions.
10:00am: Under 11 Boys and Under 11 Girls, Race & Novice divisions.
10:10am: U13 Boys and Under 13 Girls Race divisions.
10:40am: Under 15 Boys Novice division

11:30am: Under 15 Boys Race
12:20pm: Under 15, Under 17, Under 19 Girls, Race & Novice divisions.
1:00pm: Under 17 and Under 19 Boys Novice division.
2:00pm: Under 17 and Under 19 Boys Race division
