ABOUT

MAD MTB Club presents the first race of the year, the Explore Property MAD Charge XCO 3 Hour Race Presented by MAD MTBC. This event is a Cross Country Endurance MTB race open to Senior and Junior riders. It will be suitable for any new riders who would like to give it a go. If you're not sure what grade to enter please contact the club. Please note there are no overall points allocated for this race.

The senior and junior course is the same for this event (A photo can be seen below), this course run majority on green trails with small sections of blue trails making it ridable for nearly all skill levels. Course Marshalls will be around the track to assist riders including Sweep Riders. Unfortunately, riding cannot commence until sufficient Course Marshalls have been secured. If you know someone who will be at the event who is able to Marshall, please contact the club.

THE CLUB ASKS ALL PARTICIPANTS TO PLEASE REGISTER ONLINE. If you are having trouble registering via the internet, please contact the club. The contact number for the event is available until 9pm each day.

RACE DURATIONS

Race lengths and times are set in accordance with AusCycling regulations:
Dirtmachines – 15min ride

Rules

• This event is conducted in accordance with AusCycling Policies and Rules.
• An AusCycling Race Membership or Event Licence is mandatory.
• Riders must comply with any additional rules advised during the Rider Briefing.
• If a team rider cannot complete a full lap for any reason (mechanical or injury), their team mate must start the same lap again.
• Race organisers will advise of a cut-off time during the Rider Briefing.
• Most laps and fastest time wins each category.

Ages

• Age is defined as at 31 December 2026.
• AusCycling Junior Policy MTB Maximum Race Duration Age Restrictions apply and cannot be waived by Mackay & District MTB Club, so please don't ask us to "bend" the rules!

E-Bikes

• 1 Battery per bike
• 1 Bike per rider
• No charging during the event
• Range extenders are permitted as long as they are fitted from the start of the race
