Welcome to RTC’s Annual Perene Shoalwater Classic Olympic Distance Triathlon - Sunday 13th March 2022.

Yes the event is back bigger and better this year and we are excited to offer participants one of the Best Goodie Bags you will find.

The minimum age for individual participants is 15 years and the minimum age for team participants is 14 years.

Please note that swim caps will be provided but you will need to bring your own race belt. We will have some race belts for sale on the day just in case.

Course Map

The Swim is a triangle shaped 750m course in the internationally renowned Shoalwater Islands Marine Park. 2 Laps of the course will make up the 1500m for the Olympic distance race, the course includes a beach turn around. It is compulsory to wear the swim cap provided.

The Bike course consists of 6.67km Lap with each lap following the coast until cutting through towards Cape Peron and coming back the same way past transition. There are a few technical turns but the course is very flat and has plenty of long stretches. ** 6 Laps** will make up the 40km for the Olympic distance race. There will be no aid stations on bike course. Roads will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.

The Run course consists of 2.5km Laps and has competitors following the footpath along the coast with an out and back. 4 Laps for the Olympic distance race will make up the 10km. There will be aid stations at either end of the run course, so 1.25km between them

Race Fees

Participants that are not members of Triathlon Australia will need to purchase a day membership to be allowed to race and be covered by insurance. This is an additional $17.50 which needs to be selected when registering.
