We have scheduled a major race for Tuesday 7th November 2023. (Melbourne Cup Day). Note this is a morning start so you will back in time for the running of the Melbourne cup itself.
Angelo was a much loved club member, who sadly passed away in December 2015. It is appropriate to hold this event on Melbourne Cup Day, the Superb Perpetual Trophy, provided by Angelo's loving family, could easily be mistaken for the Melbourne Cup itself!!
The race We are very excited to have Danielle De Francesco participate in our race this year. Danielle is Angelo's grandaughter who is a professional National and International rider, who this year rode for French team ARKEA in the 2023 Tour de France (Femme). Race Date: Tuesday 7th November
Race Type: Handicap, Limit Group Start Time: 9:30am
Race Circuit: 2 Laps Glenaroua/Broadford circuit (Approx. 65Kms)
Race Day Check In: Glenaroua CFA from 8:15am (Will close at 9am - don't be late)
Race Fee: $30 with own transponder, +$5 for transponder hire, select option below (Please note - must pay online before event).
Prize Money: $3,000 (depending on entries)
Limited Entries: Capped at ~100 riders (ST Confirmation, allow for scratchings)
This will be a tough race on a challenging course, which is why we are bringing the event to your attention now, allowing you to train and ride in lead up events.
This race requires a current membership with AusCycling ltd
Do not attend our events if you have flu like symptoms
Grades: Riders are requested to provide a Grade and a 'Level to assist with handicapping.
