Welcome to the 2017 Victorian Schools Cycling Championships (VSCC). This is the last of four zone finals in the 2017 Road Series. The event is located at Victoria Park in Ballarat.
The event is coordinated by Cycling Victoria and the Ballarat & Sebastopol Cycling Club. Please keep reading for information about the event and program for the day.
Victoria Park is located on Sturt St in central Ballarat. Please refer to the event map on P. 5 of this rider guide for details.
Participant parking will be located on the slip road on Sturt St on the northern side of Victoria Park. Please note that the park will be closed to traffic and only official vehicles will be allowed inside the park.
Entries Entries via the Cycling Victoria website will close at 11.59pm on Monday the 11th September. On the day entries are $30, must be paid in cash, and will be granted at Cycling Victoria’s discretion.
Upon arrival at the event village, riders must visit the registration to check their names off and receive their number. Riders must register at least 45 minutes before the start of their race. Riders who do not register will be ineligible to win. The registration tent will open at 8.00am.
Bib numbers must be attached to the left side of riders’ jerseys. Each rider receives only one bib. Remember…you can keep the bib as a souvenir!!
Any rider who finishes top 5 in the ‘racing’ category must roll-out immediately after their race. Roll out restrictions (as per the 2014 Cycling Australia Technical Guidelines) are: • Junior 13s – 5.5 meters • Junior 15s – 6.0 meters • Junior 17s – 7.0 meters • Junior 19s – 7.930 meters Please note that JR13s, 15s, and 17s cannot use carbon rims. Event Start Times and Distances: Exact start times are dependent upon entry numbers, however racing will begin at 9.00am with the All Abilities Class and then run from youngest age to oldest, finishing by 3pm. The amount of laps varies between 2 and 6 (course is 2.2km). A start list with exact times and numbers of laps will be uploaded to the Cycling Victoria website a day before the event.

First Aid / Medical: Medical support will be provided by St Johns. A mobile medical team will be on course at all times to attend to any medical issues.
