The 3 Day Tour Organising Committee is proud to present the 2015 edition of this four-stage Victorian classic, now proudly in it's 57th annual running (1959-2015). 2015 presents an opportunity for current riders to etch their name alongside greats from the past including Remo Sansonetti, Matt Keenan & Mitch Docker (to name a few). Cadel Evans also rode the 1994 3 Day Tour (3DT) as an U17, achieving best placed young rider and finishing 7th in A grade. (see http://3daytour.org/about.html)
The following Grades are on offer;
Seniors:
Juniors:
All riders must be race-licensed members of a Cycling Australia affiliated club. PLEASE NOTE YOU CANNOT ENTER ON A 3 RACE LICENSE.
The 3DT is a large event requiring many volunteers. Please consider bringing a family member or friend to volunteer as it is a great way to directly involve them in something you love and also is an invaluable help to the event.
Volunteers for the Northern Combine are offered volunteer status for the 3DT (resulting in reduced entry fees and priority entry)
Riders from clubs NOT affiliated with the Northern Combine can also claim volunteer-status for the 3DT if they provide a volunteer for the 3DT. (please note this does not then result in volunteer status for Northern Combine events outside of 3DT) Volunteer info here
SENIORS:
JUNIORS:
The Junior Tour uses grades rather than age groups. Please see below and use as a guide.
Juniors utilise all or part of the Senior courses in use for the relevant day, depending on their grade. Course particulars, distances and start times for each junior grade are to be advised and will be communicated closer to the Junior Tour start. Start times are generally ~30min to an hour before or after Senior grades as a guide.
Rollout and race distances: All riders must use their correct aged rollout regardless of their grade. Riders are unable to register in grades where distances are beyond Cycling Australia rules.
Numbers will be capped at approx 15 per grade and are open to all race-licensed junior riders. Grades are dependant on receiving sufficient entries. The final decision on grades will be made by the Junior Handicapper.
All Enquiries – including grading enquiries - should be directed to junior3DT@gmail.com
Payment for the 3 Day Tour is by credit card only. If you currently do not use credit cards, please consider a Debit Card from your bank or those available for purchase from Australia Post for $6.95
Your race entry is provisional, noting that your requested Grade is reviewed by the Handicapping Committee and is subject to change if it is deemed necessary. Please ensure you enter a realistic grade given your ability.
You are able to scratch with a full refund up until 5:00pm Friday 29th May. Scratchings after this may get a refund if a replacement rider can be found, otherwise will be treated as a DNS.
Riders are asked to consider making a small non-compulsory contribution to help the Organising Committee fund improvements - eg Last's year's Traffic Management Costs for Speed Step-downs around Stage Finishes was funded by Rider’s Voluntary Contributions. $5 or $10 goes a long way and, once accumulated across many riders, is the equivalent of the 3DT signing a sponsor. Donations of $50 and above and get your name/business name listed in the program.
The 3DT is a volunteer-resourced, not-for-profit event and partly relies on sponsors to help keep race fees low and to continue to improve. If you have access to potential sponsors and would like to help then we’d love to talk to you. Sponsorship is a great way to help ensure this historic event remains viable and continues into the future. Please email info@3daytour.org if you are able to help.
The 3 Day Tour is organised by a separate Organising Committee to the Northern Combine. Whilst there is close association, please note that the two Organisations are separate.
Please note that permits are being finalised and Organisers reserve the right to amend the Race Program &/or Stages.
