Welcome to the 2018 Victorian Schools Cycling Championships (VSCC).

This is the second of 4 zone finals in the 2018 Road Series. The event is located at the Bendigo Livestock Exchange in Huntly. The exchange will not be trading on the day so riders will be able to race free from traffic. The course is approximately 1km long, so students will be doing multiple laps depending on their age category.

Please refer to the start list that will be released a day before the event.

The event is coordinated by Cycling Victoria and the Bendigo & District Cycling Club. Please keep reading for information about the event and program for the day.

Event Location:

The event will be held at the Bendigo Livestock Exchange which is located on Wallenjoe Rd in Huntly.

Entries:

Entries via the Cycling Victoria website will close at 11.59pm on Tuesday 29 August. On the day entries are $30, must be paid in cash, and will be granted at Cycling Victoria’s discretion.

Registration:

Upon arrival at the event village, riders must visit the registration to check their names off and receive their number. Riders must register at least 30 minutes before the start of their race. Riders who do not register will be ineligible to win. The registration tent will open at 8.00am.

Bib Numbers:

Bib numbers must be attached to the left side of riders’ jerseys. Each rider receives only one bib. Remember…you can keep the bib as a souvenir!!

Roll Out:

Any rider who finishes top 5 in the ‘racing’ category must roll-out immediately after their race. Roll out restrictions (as per the 2014 Cycling Australia Technical Guidelines) are: • Junior 13s – 5.5 meters • Junior 15s – 6.0 meters • Junior 17s – 7.0 meters • Junior 19s – 7.930 meters Please note that JR13s, 15s, and 17s cannot use carbon rims. Event Start Times and Distances: Exact start times are dependent upon entry numbers; however racing will begin at 9.00am with the All Abilities Class and then run from youngest age to oldest, finishing by 3pm. The amount of laps varies between 5 and 15 (course is 1km). A start list with exact times and numbers of laps will be uploaded to the Cycling Victoria website a day before the event.
