This announcement is a call for all NCC riders who wish to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to represent NCC in the 2018 CSA Super Series. NCC are committed to host up to 3 teams in 2018; expanding on the success of our Cat-2 men’s NCC Team from last season’s Series. The number of NCC Teams and their categorisation is dependant on how many club riders submit EOI’s. The EOI portal will close on 31 July at 11:59 PM. NOTE - no payment is required to submit your EOI.
• Cat 1 Men (A grade),
• Cat 2 Men (B-C Grade),
• Cat 3 Men (C-D Grade),
• Cat 1 Women (A-C women),
• Cat 2 Women (D-E Women).
The CSA Super Series is comprised of 8 Rounds (stages) and is scheduled for between late September through mid-December. How many Rounds do you anticipate being available to race in?
• Some (2-4 rounds),
• Most (5-6 rounds),
• All (8 rounds).
Norwood Cycling Club Membership – riders must be NCC members, or willing to transfer to NCC. Existing members will obtain preference.
Norwood Cycling Club Kit - Riders must be willing to supply their own club kit. Kit must be the current NCC red on navy kit. Selected riders will be advised sufficiently ahead of time if they are required to purchase kit.
Transport to events:
Riders are expected to provide their own transport to events at their own expense.
What will Norwood Cycling Club Supply?
All race fees will be expensed to NCC. Team marquees, a Team manager, and a support vehicle will be provided at each event. NCC will endeavour to subsidise rider costs where possible, for example: water/soft drink spares at events, accommodation, food at Wallaroo, etc.
All NCC Teams will be selected by the Team-NCC race committee. A squad of 8 riders will be selected for each race category for each round by the respective Team Captain, Club Handicapper, and respective Team Manager. Selections will be based on the criteria of rider availability, previous race results, current form, rider mindset, and rider contributions to the Club.
Depending on the number of EOIs, some riders may miss being selected for a NCC Team. If this is the case, the Team-NCC race committee will work hard to help get you in another (non-NCC) Team.
It is expected that riders representing NCC will conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and comply with all race rules and regulations. While at events, riders are expected to represent the club with pride and honour. Any misconduct by riders, penalties, disputes or appeals will be referred to the Club Committee and managed by the Club President. This will be done in-line with NCC and CSA bylaws.
Thank you for expressing interest in riding for NCC at the 2018 CSA Super Series. Please be patient as the selection process and logistics of compiling multiple Teams will occur in our spare time. NCC are looking forward to an exciting CSA Super Series and we hope you can be a part of the Teams-based racing in 2018.
